Music therapy is definitely not a career with a lot of monotony. In fact, as music therapists, we are constantly creating and developing ideas for interventions that will best fit our clients’ needs. Many times, it’s right on the spot. I love that my job is never boring; however, working long hours and being “on”, as my husband says, all day long can be exhausting. Sometimes I need a little help to keep the creative juices flowing. I recently purchased a couple of e-books written by music therapist, Amy Kalas, of Wholesome Harmonies, LLC. Both “Tuneful Teens” and “Sensational Songs and Activities”, provide concrete intervention ideas but they are also designed to help “jumpstart” your creativity. They have both been a wonderful resource that I highly recommend!
